From packaging to product design a wide variety of projects by Liquid have been celebrated recently in some of the most prestigious design competitions worldwide. Below is a brief recap. We’d like to take a moment to extend a big thank you to the talented teams of Liquidians and to the organizations behind the award competitions. Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, was first published in 1944 in Zurich, Switzerland. Graphis presented the work of fine artists and illustrators, and gradually presented the formative years of graphic design as we know it today. The Graphis Annual was introduced in 1952. Today it is considered one of the most respected arbiters of design worldwide. The 2015 Annual features the most visually compelling design work of the year, selected from international entries. From logos and packaging to branding and illustration, this competition is an all encompassing look at the world of graphic design.
Founded in 1965, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) is the world’s oldest, largest, member-driven society for industrial design. IDSA represents professionals in product design, interaction design, human factors, ergonomics, design research, design management, universal design, and related design fields. The society produces the renowned International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) competition annually. The 2014 competition drew more than 2,000 entries from which the jury selected work demonstrating the kind of creativity and passion that represents the best the profession has to offer.

For five decades, GDUSA has sponsored national design competitions that spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity for creative professionals including The American Web Design Awards and The American Package Design Awards. The American Web Design Awards celebrates the power of well-designed websites and online communications. This year’s entries topped 1,000 and only a highly selective top 15 percent were recognized with an awards certificate. The American Package Design Awards focuses on package design—along with the related disciplines of POP and in-store graphics. This competition celebrates well-designed graphics, of course, but also the power of design to advance the brand promise and forge an emotional connection with the buyer at the moment of truth. This year over 1800 projects were entered, and only one-in-five were recognized.
Since 1995, Core77 has served a devoted global audience of designers by publishing articles, providing discussion forums, producing lecture series and exhibitions, and sponsoring the Core77 Design Awards. This annual competition recognizes excellence in all areas of design enterprise.
