2011 Shaping Up to Be A Banner Year for Liquid Agency.
Firm is honored with dozens of design awards in first quarter.
San Jose, CA, April 5, 2011 – So far, 2011 has been an incredible year for Liquid Agency. The Silicon Valley headquartered brand agency founded by Alfredo Muccino and Scott Gardner is not only celebrating its 10-year anniversary, it also recently announced the opening of its first European office and has been honored with dozens of design awards, including two coveted "red dot" awards for product design, a REBRAND 100 Global Award of Distinction, and an American Package Design Award from Graphic Design USA.
"red dot award: product design" for Slice and Olive
The biggest and most prestigious design competition in the world today, the "red dot" awards receive more than 12,000 entries from 60 countries in three categories (communication, product design and design concept). Liquid won two awards in the product design category, which received 4,400 entries that were judged by 36 experts. Less than 10 percent of entrants who submit their work actually receive a red dot award.
Alfredo Muccino, the Chief Creative Officer at Liquid collaborated with industrial designer Scot Herbst on the design of theSlice Box Cutter. The new product won for the its attractive design and functionality, which provides new levels of safety for the user. Slice, an ongoing client of Liquid, develops an entire line of innovative products that cut, slice, chop, grate and more.

Professor Dr. Peter Zec, president of the red dot design award, had this to say about this year's competition: "Good design cannot be overestimated for business success. It is the obvious and appealing design of a product that creates a direct, intuitive connection with the consumer. But design can do much more: It links the user to the product and the brand alike; it creates confidence in quality performances; and in the best of cases, it demonstrates the responsibility of the manufacturer towards his clients, the environment, and all those involved in the production process. Only those who design their products in an exemplary way will be awarded in the red dot design award and can refer to this outstanding distinction with justified pride."
REBRAND 100 Global Award of Distinction for Aviat Networks
The 2011 REBRAND 100 Global Awards honored Liquid with an Award of Distinction for the agency's brand transformation work with Aviat Networks. The REBRAND competition is the first and most respected global recognition for repositioned brands - meaning a brand transformation. Featured in publications like The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money and Bloomberg Businessweek, it receives entries from global organizations, Fortune 50 corporations, small businesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, cities, and universities from around the world.

American Package Design Awards for Olive Packaging
Liquid also won an American Package Design Award for its packaging work for Olive Music Server, a maker of high–end digital music equipment. Liquid received its award for the packaging of the Olive O6HD Music Server, which turns a standard stereo into a professional quality digital HD music system.
The annual competition is produced by Graphic Design USA, a seminal trade magazine for graphic designers and other creative professionals that has been published since 1963. Awards are given to packaging, point-of-purchase (p-o-p) and related projects that are visually attractive—but more importantly—are designed to advance the brand and forge an emotional connection with the purchaser.
