It is clear to everyone in Liquid that there are no geographical boundaries to the brand thinking that we have developed, and we’re also finding there are very few cultural boundaries to great branding and design. Liquid Europe has recently helped its client Pulkovo Airport to win the European heat of this year’s CIS Routes Airport Marketing Awards.

Winning awards as well as hearts and minds
Pulkovo’s win was announced on the 25th of June to a dynamic audience of almost 200 aviation professionals at the Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport. The awards operated on the core principle that the people who are best placed to judge an airport’s marketing activities are the airlines themselves. So, for the last few months, airlines from the European region have been voting for the airports that they felt had delivered the best marketing over the past year, with Pulkovo topping the list. We are delighted for the airport and feel proud to have been able to help them achieve this success.

Building international bridges
When Liquid Europe was approached by Pulkovo Airport to help with brand and marketing a few months ago we felt it was time for us to brush up on our Russian. Thankfully, our clients are skilled linguists, and have been more than happy to conduct our meetings and conversations in English.

 

The Campaign
During a hugely rewarding working relationship, Liquid Europe were tasked with creating a banner campaign for Pulkovo Airport, which we entitled, ‘Everyone is talking about St. Petersburg’. The aim of the project was simple, to attract more airlines to fly to Pulkovo by revealing the energy and beauty that the airport and city lives and breathes. With the tagline, ‘Knowing Russia Is Loving Russia’, the banners burst into life with fluttering birds, dancing ballerinas and chatting women, concisely delivering a charming visual experience and extremely clear message.

 

A great relationship continues to evolve
Speaking after winning the award, Senior Specialist of Aviation, Angelika Kokina, stated that Pulkovo Airport have loved working with Liquid Europe throughout each stage of the project. She went on to say that the campaign has served as a remarkable improvement for their branding and that the airport thoroughly looks forward to working with Liquid Europe on future campaigns.
