The sound is seductive, romantic and mysterious – as are the lyrics. As described on PoetLab’s website: “The songs are a catalog of life, experiences, lost love and hope”. The band members have been Alfredo’s friends for many years, and as he told us “It was a great honor to be asked to contribute to their debut by using my paintings for the CD art”.

Alfredo has built a successful career as the co-founder of Liquid Agency and its Chief Creative Officer. His days are spent helping companies define their brand strategies, developing global marketing campaigns or designing retail merchandising programs. These days he also spends a great deal of time speaking at conferences and opening up new offices in countries far and wide. But, in his heart, Alfredo has always been an artist – and he finds the time to create new art pieces constantly. His prolific output includes mostly drawings and paintings – and the occasional sculpture – all of which has been shown in a variety of shows and some of it lives in private collections. According to Alfredo “I’ve been drawing and designing my entire life and, although the two activities are connected, for me they are also two separate worlds”. In fact, allowing PoetLab to use his paintings was very much an exception – but one that he is very proud of and he is honored to have his work grace the cover of his friends’ debut release.

PoetLab is made up of Steve Hermosillo, Greg Randuch and Randy Emata. Alfredo has known the three for a long time and has always respected their individual music talent – and he’s honored that he’s been able to participate in the release of their first collaboration. When you listen to PoetLab you are transported into a world that is both sensual and raw – qualities that Alfredo tries to build in his own paintings. It is no coincidence that the artwork that was selected for the debut release alludes to lost dreams and raw emotions. The music has a very introspective and painterly quality.
