The Telly Awards is an international competition celebrating the very best film & video content. This year marked the 34th anniversary of this prestigious event, and the winners were chosen from a field that included over 10,000 entries from across the globe. Liquid Agency received nine awards in total – which is a record for us! Needless to say, we're quite proud of this accomplishment. Many brands are embracing video as one of the most powerful ways to communicate their messages and doing this effectively is becoming more and more important - and that's why we are proud to have won these awards.

As one of the international speakers at UX London, our Director of Transformation, Marty Neumeier will be flying in from the US to talk about his latest book, "Metaskills: Five Talents for the Robotic Age". There will be three days of inspiring talks and practical workshops on Product Design, Behavior Design and Design Strategy featuring 28 of the most respected professionals in the industry – including Tom Hulme of IDEO, Genevieve Bell of Intel, Richard Seymour, co-founder of SeymorPowell and Peter Melholz of GroupOn. Marty does not come visit us in London often, so this is a great opportunity to meet him in person. What’s more, we've secured a 10% discount for Liquid’s friends and clients.

We're happy to report that we survived the latest CES show. CES 2013 was supposed to be dead from the start, instead – according to the Consumer Electronics Association – it was the biggest show in its history. Over 150,000 people were in Las Vegas to see more than 20,000 new products being launched – yet, we walked away feeling a bit disappointed. How could it be? To celebrate the New Year, Adobe asked Liquid Agency to help them live up to their vision as an advocate for creativity. Working collaboratively with the Adobe brand team, we developed a unique interactive experience that transforms New Year’s resolutions into works of art that can be shared through social media. This is Adobe’s way of saying thanks to the creative community, and invite people to share their inspiration with others. We were glad we could help—and invite you to create some artwork based on your resolutions and share them with your friends and family, so they can be inspired too.

ZER01 is an organization that explores what will be possible tomorrow by provoking new ideas, sparking experimentation and seeding creative collaboration between artists and engineers – today. And, ZER01 just happens to be next door to our offices in San Jose. As you can imagine, as soon as we were introduced to ZER01 we knew we wanted to find out more and be involved. And it has been a blast!

On the fourth of September it was revealed to the world that Coca-Cola had become the first retailer to achieve more than 50 million fans on Facebook. This is a fantastic achievement in itself, but it becomes even more exciting and amazing when we think about what this means for the ever-growing power of social media and how brands can utilise it.

Liquid Agency took home 12 awards at this year's ADDY Awards Gala, including two of the coveted ADDY Statuettes, representing work that was considered the best in its category. The ADDYs honor creative excellence by recognizing the best work of local agencies, as judged by a panel of peers. The party and awards ceremony was hosted by the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Advertising Federation, on March 4 at the Marriott Hotel, downtown San Jose. This year's party was smaller than in previous years – a reflection of the tough economic climate – yet the mood was festive, as it seems that Silicon Valley is starting to show signs of recovery.
