Announcing the winners of Liquid’s Q4/2012 Amazing Awards.

At Liquid, good is not good enough.
Working at Liquid is more than just a job. The agency is made up of people that are dedicated and passionate about branding, design, and innovation. It’s part of our culture and our DNA. We don’t just preach Silicon Valley Thinking—we live it. We reach higher and push ourselves farther. Because, that’s how things get interesting. That’s where the fun begins. Simply put, we just don’t think good is good enough. We think our clients deserve more, and that’s why we shoot for amazing.
The Liquid Core Values.
When Liquid was started, we published a set of Core Values as a way to articulate who we are and how we behave. Our Core Values are: Confident Leadership, Refreshing Creativity, Maximum Efficiency, and Amazing Experience. Today, over a decade later, these values remain intact. We look for these values in the people we hire, and we use these values in our performance evaluations. Our core values are not just words on paper. They drive our work, our culture, our thinking, and our actions.
The Amazing Awards.
This year we initiated the Amazing Awards as a way to recognize the individuals that most exemplified the values each quarter. The winners were selected by the employees of Liquid through an online voting mechanism that also encouraged people to write a story about each employee and the reason why they were nominated. The stories were read at our company meeting, which is when we announced the winners—to much applause and sincere appreciation from everyone present. Each winner was handed an award that will sit on their desk—and their name will be etched onto a permanent award that will be displayed in the lobbies of our offices.

We launched this recognition program by selecting winners from our San Jose and Portland offices—and we will soon expand the awards to also include people in our other locations. The winners in the fourth quarter of 2012 are (drumroll, please):

I think all of the people at Liquid are AMAZING and they are all winners in my opinion – but I am excited for the individuals that were recognized for living our values in an exemplary fashion over the last quarter (and beyond). Thanks for making Liquid what it is – and for making all the long hours so much more enjoyable. All of you are amazingly talented, dedicated and fun – and it is a privilege to work with you. :)

Congrats to all the Amazing Award Winners! It is so satisfying to watch people at Liquid live our Core Values and understand their importance in how our agency operates. This race was tight and so many people were well deserving. The first award recipients are so talented and I am honored to work with them. The next set of winners I know will be equally deserving and special. Cheers!
